P1 testing
Is it possible to test p1 factoring, but using low M_{N} numbers at large B1 and B2 settings. Also what sort of memory should be allocated.
I am using Mac command line version 30.7b9 so presume that rules out GpuOwl

It is possible but you must use 30.8b15. Give it all the RAM you can spare as long as the system does not start thrashing during stage 2.
See https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=27477 for exponents to work on. Last fiddled with by Prime95 on 20220725 at 14:32

You could if it existed. I'll see if I can build it this week.

Could the PrimeNet server assign separate P1 work only to version 30.8 or later, and with enough RAM allocated, say 4GB per worker?
Only separate P1 work at the wavefront should be affected. Those P1 as a prePRP should remain the same. Last fiddled with by Zhangrc on 20220726 at 07:14

Thanks
I can spare 24gb at night and 12gb during day. Based on this what values of B1 and B2 should I use for an exponent such as M1619 or is that insufficient memory? Or should I use M5471 or even highed than this? I intend just running one exponent Last fiddled with by bayanne on 20220726 at 08:59

You are highly unlikely to find a factor using P1 on exponents below 10000. GMPECM is also very fast on these tiny numbers and has been available for many years.
I've been working on exponents between 80000 and 100000 using B1=1e9. I've been finding 2 or 3 factors for each exponent range of 1000. As to memory, I'd let program use 12GB day and night.

I grabbed half a dozen in the 115m range and now running but in silent mode. Can I view what is being processed? Should I communicate with you via pm?

How can I show you if the app is running how it should? Can I run a smaller test?
