When running Prime95 on my XP Home machine, I'll shut down (Usually, I'll stop P95 before shutting down) and then on the next power-on, my system will lock-up on boot-up. I must shut off my system and turn it back on, which, after scan-disking, will load-up without a problem.
I just want to know if this problem has been reported or if there is a solution. 1.2 AMD 256 MB RAM 128 MB GF4Ti XP Home edition |

No need to stop Prime95 when you turn of your box, as it automatically halts and closes down gracefully when you shut your system down.

Try opening prime95, and under the options tab, uncheck start at bootup. If prime95 is the culprit, this will fix the problem; otherwise it is something else on your machine.
