I've been away from Prime95 for a while. Now I'd like to run it on an eMachines with a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4, Windows XP Home SP2.
The Web site points to version 24.14, which I have used before. The forums and the ftp site show different versions of v25. These may not be exactly official, but I am sure that they are pretty good! Which version should I use for fastest performance on this PC? And if you recommend version 25, do I get it from the ftp site? Thanks! |

Version 25 has no performance improvements. Casual users should stick with version 24.

In v25, there's improvements for file management for multi-core users though. No need to have 4 copies of P95 in separate folders. That's incentive enough for some people to want to switch.

i let the individual threads expire, one by one. unreserved what was left. restarted with v25.6 had to restart once before it would talk to the server, but all is well. |
