Are you running mprime with the -d switch?

no I'm not.

Is that what I need to do?

Can I stop all the workers and rerun with the -d switch?

Can I run it with -d and -m?

Yeah, the -d switch will show what's going on.

I've not run with -m and -d before. Try it and see :)

-m activates the interactive menu.

-d activates printed (and detailed) output (which is what you're looking for, on by default in Windows version)

-m and -d together will merely bring you to the interactive menu (I think, never actually tried it)
