Default Problem when sending manual results on M10855723

I've just sent to Primenet three results of running P-1 on exponents M10,xxx,xxx using Colab work using the manual submission form.

Two of them were accepted successfully, but the third number that has a factor found on step 1 showed the factor but no credit. There was no attached error code. Just a blank line.

If I look in my results there is no entry for M10855723, and in https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...ll=1&ecmhist=1 I can see the new result, but there is no user name for this new known factor.

Default Same here

Factor recorded, but no record of submission happening.

See attachment - that's the complete output - no credit details, no nothing. Ignore the first line - I accidentally submitted a previously submitted entry.

Nothing recorded here, apart from the factor itself. https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...3731683&full=1

Please PM or email the text used in the manual submissions form. I'll make sure the result is properly entered in the database.

Question: did these take a long time (like 3 minutes)? I'm trying to figure out if the PHP code timed out before the result was completely processed. If it was not a timeout, then the only thing I can think of is a database deadlock, and these aren't very common, where your transaction was rolled back.

There is a known problem where the recording of a factor and the CPU credit / results log history are not part of the same SQL transaction. I've stared at the PHP code and cannot figure out how they are not one transaction, but that bug escapes me.

Nope. Processing was instantaneous.

Just FYI, there was another problem I reported in the "Server problem" thread. A composite factor was reported for P-1, but it recorded only one of the prime factors correctly. But the issue was a validation error. Never encountered it before.

Two failures (possibly related) with manual submission form prompts the question: did anything change there recently, as in the last couple of days? It was working fine

Maybe related, how did the history of this exponent build up:

https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...ll=1&ecmhist=1

For sure that factor should have been entered on numerous occasions in the past.

And how did that user find that exponent or stumbled upon it?

Looks like all history of that exponent was lost except for the factor.

Then the current wave of PRP-CF reached their and tested/certified the cofactor.

The factor is small enough that it would have been trivially known to GIMPS. However I'm surprised that no one has done anything else (like extended TF or P-1) on that exponent.

EDIT:- Ok, I see the confusion. Villiam did a P-1 without specifying the known factor, and he rediscovered it. And the server accepted it, even though it was know at the time (we know it was known because the PRP-CF mentions it)

Sorry for any trouble. It was P-1 on gpuOwl, so, unfortunately, no way of specifying already known factors.

that explain 11180011 and a few other, right?
I did run it thru prime95, with the know factor.
https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...exp_hi=&full=1

Should I rerun it with the higher bond with the know factor?

It may be useful if you've got the time-hardware combination to do so.
