The last release of 62 bit prefactored exponents to primenet has proved that LMH has the power to continue doing this if very small ranges are picked up by several contributors and the results will be submitted very quickly (see thread : http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=1764).
This is an attempt to continue. We expect the next release of a 0.5M subrange to primenet (in two weeks ?), unfortunately the bigger part of that range (25.5-26M) is still at 60 bit (http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=1552) so help is wanted urgently. Remember that Athlons are most efficient for that job, but even a fast XP3200+ might take about 15 days for a 0.1M range (60 to 62 bit, estimated). So, if you are able and willing to help, please pick a small range (<=0.1M) and submit the results asap per email to George ( woltman@alum.mit.edu ). If there is still time left you can pick up another small range etc. It's not necessary to unreserve another reserved range, it can be continued later. Current status : Code:

A very good start folks, thanks.
Just 0.13M left, I'm optimistic. I'll take 25.71 to 25.74M. (PrimeCruncher can only provide a P3, thanks even so). Last fiddled with by hbock on 2004-04-14 at 09:38 |

It's not huge, but I'll P3/800 25.98-25.99 to 62.
Current indicators are 36~37 min/exponent. 261 exponents @ 37min would be done in < 161 hours < 168 hours = 1 week |

7-10 days to finish a range from now on is ok. Might be that we need some time for leftovers.
Just 0.08M left, where else is some power left? (Other ranges can wait) |
