Default U.S. West Coast Port Congestion

I first read about the U.S. west coast port congestion on a not-so-reliable source so I did my own searching and found a short article here.

The summation: A relatively large number of loaded cargo ships are sitting off the coast of California from San Fransisco south to Los Angeles. They cannot unload because the docks are full. The docks are full because there is a shortage of truck drivers to carry the containers inland. I would guess some of these destinations may be hubs for heavy air carriers like UPS and FedEx. The rest, rail and over-the-road.

I have not seen any local shortages firsthand, but they may be coming. The United Kingdom is having difficulties now. As the article says, there is not quick fix for this. I fear it may become a large problem for everyone!
