Hidiho,
I've been browsing through the excellent pages of www.15k.org lately. When I was combining the data there with my own I found that the page for the Riesel Sieve project contains 103811*2^111043-1. This is incorrect, it should be 103811*2^114034-1. Unfortunately the rieselsieve.org site has been down for a while so I can not check if this error started here or has been propagated elsewhere too. Where would be another list of the riesel sieve project that I can doublecheck? Willem. |

Karsten (kar_bon) would be interested to hear about the error. He will likely correct the issue sometime after he gets back from a 6-week vacation. Gary |

Thanks for your report. You are right, 103811*2^111043-1 is divisible by 3. I'll correct the page on 15k.org soon.

Hidiho,
both 15k.org and rieselprime.org list k=74699 incorrectly. It has two entries in the big matrix: 74669 Pirson 12.09.2001 3 1383 ? (...) 161572, 256504, 271016 74699 rieselsieve 0 91 2.60M And if you go to the subproject page for Riesel Problem you can find 74699 listed as one of the remaining 66 k. Clearly the listing for the Riesel Problem is incorrect as the three primes found by Pirson are in the Top 5000 archives. Unfortunately Rieselsieve.com has been unreachable for me for weeks so I can not go to the source. Thoughts anyone? Willem. Why are 15k.org and rieselprime.org incorrect? k=74669 shows 3 primes as found by Pirson, all listed on the top-5000 site. k=74699 shows zero primes and is the k remaining for the Riesel conjecture at RieselSieve. These look correct on 15k.org and rieselprime.org. Am I missing something? The 'big matrix' as you call it does not have 2 entries for the same k. The RieselSieve site is clearly down and has been for ages. There is some info. about the Riesel problem here but it is quite out of date. Edit: If you want the k's with primes found for the Riesel problem, go to the top-5000 site, find the project ID and pull up all of its primes. Using the rieselprime.org pages and those primes, you can "back into" the k's remaining on the Riesel problem. Also, I list the highest 10 primes found for the Riesel base 2 conjecture on my CRUS pages. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-07-11 at 17:10 |

to Willem:
i updated the page for the Rieselproblem here http://www.rieselprime.org/RieselProblem.htm and the page with the typo-k here http://www.rieselprime.org/Summary10e05.htm#n05.1. on the first page there're many data i got directly from Wilfried Keller and all from his page and rieselsieve too. so i hope this page is up to date. |
