Is there anything useful I can do with this graphics card? I want to see if it's even worth the effort to put it in a case with a GTX 570 to do some kind of useful work (provided the PSU can even handle both of them at once).

I ran a GTX 260 for a while doing trial factoring with mfaktc. It was good for maybe 50 GHzDays/day, IIRC.

50GHzdays/day is not worth the additional power consumption if you ask me.

http://www.mersenne.ca/mfaktc.php?sort=gpw has figures that agree with the above posters: about 50 GHz-days/day, and a power usage that makes it 7 times less efficient than your GTX 570 (in GHd/d / W). I wouldn't bother crunching on it if I were you.

I still have a GT 430 (50 GHzd/d) and two GT 520 (30 GHzd/d) trial factoring. Not efficient, but free. In fact, as I've been distracted with the skipped bit levels stuff, these three cards are all I have doing GPU72 work. Each consumes less electricity doing TF than a GTX 580 consumes while idle.

Yeah, sounds like it may be time to retire it. Thanks!
