PrimeNet doesn't have any info about an LL test on it, but then it doesn't even have is as being factored to 72 or p-1 tested yet, so don't assume too much from that.

I'd like to LL test the exponent myself so I can break the record for the largest LL test ever carried out. How do I reserve this exponent with respect to Primenet? StarQwest was able to get his test of M100,000,007 recognized by Primenet.

P.S. I've started already; 220,000 iterations done.

The question in my previous post has been answered.

With the intention of getting a residue every 1 million iterations, I set "iterations between results file outputs" to 1000000. Now that the 1 million iteration mark has come and gone, how do I find the residue?

What you set is the fact that Prime95 will write a line in your results files, not that it will save intermediate files. For that you need to digg into undoc.txt and find the lines :

You can have the program generate save files every n iterations. The files will have a .XXX extension where XXX equals the current iteration divided by n. In prime.ini enter:
InterimFiles=n
You can have the program output residues every n iterations. The default value is the InterimFiles value. In prime.ini enter:
InterimResidues=n

There is 17 LL test underway on 332M (100M digit) exponents. 15 by ANONYMOUS and 2 by simcon.

Indeed there are 332M tests underway. But I (and Jin Du obviously) expect to finish the 100 000 037 exponent well before the big ones.

Indeed. All I got was a rather uninformative: "Iteration 1000000/100000039". Not even a 16 hexadecimal residue.

Anyway, I'm running the test on one core of a 2006 desktop with a Core 2 Duo E6700; the other core is being used for "normal-sized" LL tests.

I'm finishing about 1 million iterations every 4 days. At this rate, the test will finish in Oct. 2009. That may be a little optimistic though because I will not have direct access to the computer for most of the time. But I still think I have a good shot at finishing in 2009.

The way you phrased that sentence... You're planning to test M100,000,039 as well? I'll assume 100 000 037 was a typo; for the record that exponent has already been factored, as was mentioned in the MasterPrime 2006 thread.

You are right : I meant to say that I expected you to finish the test before the people going for 332M will finish theirs and that I though you expected the same. I tried to contract the two propositions and contracted them to much. As for the exponent it is not even a typo just bad memory and no interest in the actual nimber I could (and should) have written 100M instead.

If you have InterimResidues=1000000 in prime.txt you should get output like this:

M46019801 interim Wd1 residue A93B9072E8348331 at iteration 1000000

P.S. Just a thought. You've got to have those lines in the top section of the file... NOT after the tags in square brackets.
And if you edit it but not stop/restart the program - the program couldn't care less.
Also, on the same thought. Don't edit control files with the prime95 still running - it may overwrite some or any of your changes, when you stop it.

The safest course of action: stop (or even exit) the Prime95. Add the line(s) to the prime.txt.
