Ok some stats and observations

This is from the COLAB FAQ:
Quote:
What types of GPUs are available in Colab? The types of GPUs that are available in Colab vary over time. This is necessary for Colab to be able to provide access to these resources for free. The GPUs available in Colab often include Nvidia K80s, T4s, P4s and P100s. There is no way to choose what type of GPU you can connect to in Colab at any given time. Users who are interested in more reliable access to Colab’s fastest GPUs may be interested in Colab Pro.
Certainly the T4 (for TF) and P100 (for LL/P1) are the fastest so I take the above to mean my FREE account is unlikely to get them.

For the last few weeks I've had me 2 Colab session track the GPUID I got.

After 1,000 total attempts (500 each session) these are my numbers.
(DISCLAIMER: IFF I get a P100 I stop trying so that number may be slightly overstated)

Code:
TYPE TOTAL UNIQUE
ALL 1000 904
T4 927 832
P100 39 39
P4 27 26
K80 7 7
92.7% were T4
3.9% were P100

By the way I have much better luck getting a P100 between 0600 and 1600GMT.

Since I regularly do LL with gpuowl, I know that the order in speed is as follows.
P100 354%
K80 177%
T4 133%
P4 100%

No.

But I did find a bit of a strange state on the GPU72 server. Restarted both the MariaDB and Apache software stacks, and things seemed to stabilize.

I don't understand why it entered that state.

I don't like not understanding...
