The huge number of pending WUs across the queues is consistent with these challenge BOINCers storing up a ton of work, to be submitted when the challenge window opens. At least, that's my grasp of what Carlos means when he says "bunkering".
When these events happen, we just try to keep WUs available, let the chaos play out, and then add Q to some jobs after the challenge ends because some of the BOINC work doesn't match up (bad relations, I mean). |

Yes, to bunker is to queue, process, to dump later within the timeframe of the challenge, to the last minute. There’s a lot of strategy and guess game on the sprints challenges. Not sure if you guys noticed but since half of the year people were trying to predict when this nfs challenge would happen so they were bunkering 5-6 days prior to the project sprint announcement to release on the first day of the challenge. Wus have a 7 days limit plus grace period...
