I wasn't going to poach it; just making an observation.

And someone jumped in on 101087191 and didn't want to wait for the obviously stalled assignment there to expire out.

I'm surprised nobody has done the same for M101818817 - it's also stalled out and has been at 65% for a few days now, and before that it was stuck at 64.something for another week or so.

It'll expire in 7 days, but I'm betting someone turns in a result just before it expires and gets assigned to someone else.

A Radeon VII can do it in a day. Was that a request?

Maybe people like looking at their name all alone on the Active Assignments page? M101818817 gets updated each day but the progress does not change.

LOL... probably not though.

I'm not sure how it happens (but it does). Maybe someone stopped Prime95 but the app is still running. In that case, does it still check in progress?

Or the user decided to move another assignment to the top of their worktodo, so it's chunking away on that first.

Yes, P95 will report the progress as scheduled, when stopped (but not exited). I stop it occasionally, when it interferes with other daily tasks, and sometimes forget to restart it, and it will still report the progress daily (it is scheduled so in the options). Which is right.

If any showstoppers belong to me, please kick me with a PM or so, I didn't check them (but read the messages in the thread).

Default MEGAPRIMES

There is a new milestone of sorts today May Day 2021

There are now 1006 mega primes in the Prime List at utm.edu

Five years ago there were only 169, meaning that 5/6 of these mega primes have been discovered in the last 5 years.
10 years ago (on May 1st, 2011) there we only 35 of these.

As to primes over 3,000,000 digits we now have 64.
5 years ago May 1st, 2016 we had 16 and 10 years ago we had only 10

Default countdown to 56M DC milestone

Checking today, ~213 to go, and 34 (~16%) are assigned to TAMUC-ComputerScience, and have not checked in for 2 weeks or more, in some cases ~2 months.
