Default How to know if you found a mersenne prime

Hi all,

I just downloaded GIMPS! I saw that there's actually prizes for discovering new primes. Assuming I'm not sitting there monitoring my computer 24 hours a day, how would I know if at any given time, I discovered a prime? Will a big glittering box pop up? Is it logged in a file somewhere?

Thanks!

If you are running the Prime95 software and have not changed the default settings:

Your machine should beep at you. It is also logged in your Results.txt file. It will also send the result into the PrimeNet server.
Also it should appear in the communication/main window of the Prime95 software.

George will then try to contact you. There is a file that should be save that will assist in a quick error check.
