3029*2^460132-1 is prime.
Rank 4946. Just made it in. ![]() The reservation is almost finished. I'd say 2-3 days left. |

![]() I looked again. The way PrimeGrid is dumping primes, the 5000th prime is likely to be at n=460K within ONE day! My guess is that you'll still finish to n=461K before the 5000th prime hits there. Thanks for putting 4 cores on it. ![]() Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-10-10 at 21:14 |

More files have been posted. Come and get 'em!
Max, I went ahead and posted them because I only have the specific file needed for this drive up to n=500K; that is with the appropriate 7 k's removed. We'll need to cut n=500K-1M out of the k=3000-3400 master sieve file and remove k=3001-3009, 3045, and 3135 from it before going higher. But before doing that, we have a decision to make on what to do above n=500K on this drive. The original intent of this drive was just to finish up Chris's sieve file but since we included it in the huge k=2000-3400 sieve, we can do whatever we want with n>500K. We could turn it into a PRPnet drive or something with manual files available. Gary |

Very good Gamer. Even though they'll only be in top 5000 for ~1 day (1st prime) and ~3-4 days (2nd prime), it's nice to have the contiguous range of primes in the top 5000 DB.

My suggestion at n=500K would probably be to open it up to everyone with this stipulation: No more than 8 cores from any one person on it. That'd help keep it a little further ahead of the 5000th prime but not have the higher resourced folks drown out the ones with less cores. With only 100 k's, it would advance faster than our typical drives that are either 300-500 k's or are already at n>700K. Gary |

460K-461K has been completed! :)
EDIT: Now to resume my other reservations. Also reserving 479K-480K. Last fiddled with by gamer007 on 2009-10-12 at 07:24 |
