1070 ti to 2070 Super upgrade?

Currently I have a lower end 1070 ti that runs pretty loud and hot for 1440p 144Hz. I was wondering if anyone here that has made a similar upgrade can chime in on whether it was worth it or not. I'm thinking of picking up the 2070 Super XC Ultra, as I don't want to skimp on cooling this time around. I made around $500 from flipping PCs for fun this summer so the money is kinda burning a hole in my pocket.

Worth it for what purpose?
You said it runs hot for a resolution, but those have nothing to do with each other- it's what program / game you're running that taxes the card, rather than what specific resolution.

We don't know anything about games 'round here- but there are dozens of hardware sites where you can read benchmarks of your favorite games. If you're doing math with the card, which math?

For gaming use as a rule of thumb a 2070 Super is similar to a 1080ti with added raytracing nonsense (that will not be in widespread use for years and by that time there'll be better cards to do it, right now it's a niche gimmick for gaming purposes). I wouldn't upgrade but it's your money.

For purely gaming I would recommend the RX 5700XT over the 2070Super since it's within 5-10% of 2070Super depending on the resolution but it's like 100$ cheaper. However, if you are doing TF workloads the 2070Super will be significantly faster.
