I am using three computers (two PC, one Mac) to search for Primes. One, the Mac, shows up on my list of active CPUs but doesn't display a current exponent or worktype despite currently working -- it's currently at "3.4% of LL M52813807". Is it not displaying because of a difference between Macs and PCs? Or is something else wrong?
Just don't want to have it running for the next 4-5 days to discover nothing came of it. I can provide more information if that helps. Thanks! |

Don't worry, if the work is done, nothing else matters, unless you're poached...
It's probably not displaying real status because the Mac did not report to the server for some time. Try manually contacting the server. I hope that helps. |

Thank you! I'm sure that's the problem. What does "poached" mean in this context?

When someone turns in work on an exponent that is assigned to you. They have poached it. (Like taking wild animals on someone else's land.)
I looked up your exponent: https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...813807&exp_hi= It shows that a double check was turned in on May 27. Did you get an assignment ID from PrimeNet (look in your worktodo.txt file and see if the line for 52813807 starts with Doublecheck=N/A,52813807 or Doublecheck=String of Hex,52813807 [where the string of hex are random looking numbers and letters]). |

Thanks for your response. It reads: DoubleCheck=975BCDE0411928469332F3C777F8456__52813807,74,1

When did you get that assignment? If your machine is realll slow, you may have fallen so far behind that you fell from a Category 3 or 4 assignment, to a Category 1 and the exponent may have expired and gotten recycled. Or you got poached.

I installed the software today but had previously installed it on the same machine ~10 mos ago and then uninstalled it, as it had begun to slow the computer. I don't rely on the computer as much now so I thought I could dedicate it to GIMPS during most of the day. Is it possible when I reinstalled it simply began working on the same assignment as 10 mos ago?
