Errors on AMD Athlon 3200+ Help ?

[Tue Apr 03 18:36:39 2007]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
[Tue Apr 03 18:41:22 2007]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
[Tue Apr 03 21:33:38 2007]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

Each of these errors were after about 5-10 minutes. Could anybody help me? It would be much appreciated.

Dust in fan or heatsink fins of CPU?

What are your temperature readings, either from your computers BIOS or from a software tool that reads temperatures?

Memory? Make sure setting are correct in BIOS -- try SPD. Then download and run memtest+

What are your voltage readings?

Have you recently upgraded any hardware?

No dust in fan

Temp : (from program speed fan) : 66C, 37C

I've tried a few times to get into my BIOs but I can't seem to get into them.

Voltage : (speed fan stats again) :
Vcore1 : 1.65V;
Vcore2 : 1.65V;
+3.3V : 3.33V;
+5V : 4.89V;
+12V : 11.84V;
-12V : -11.95V
-5V : 3.84V
+5 : 4.95V
Vbat : 4.08V

And no I haven't upgraded any hardware.

To get in to BIOS press the "del" key as you machine boots -- just after the keyboard lights flash. It might be "F1" or "F2" or "F10" depending on your motherboard -- see your motherboards manual which you can get from the manufacturer's website. The BIOS will not change unless you tell it to save your changes. But it does not look like a BIOS problem...

The "-5v" looks poor and I think suggests you might need a replacement power supply unit (PSU.) Get a second opinion on this. Anybody?

ps. It is possible, though much less likely, that the mainboard is bad e.g. blown capacitor.

Thanks I've had many computer but never really had a memory problem till this one and I was totally lost on what to do. Thanks. Ill post back if anything else pops up.

Hey paul I found out what my problem was ... my computer was getting way to hot... my solution : putting a small box fan in from of it, it works it brought the temp down about 25C, thanks for you help though.
