Munich – The Edge of War is a 2021 German/British drama film, directed by Christian Schwochow, - highly recommended as a psychological analysis of war and appeasement policies.

masser, thanks for this post. It's an interview with the foremost expert on Russia in the West. It is intelligent, thoughtful, reasoned, and gives you much to think about. It has some great insights into Putin and his beliefs and motives. I don't think I've read a better insight into this mess than this article. Good stuff. |

Oof. Not a pretty picture. It seems Putin is not as informed, or as willing to be informed, as I thought he was. The way the article described the situation - his only being told what he wanted to hear, being surrounded by sycophants, etc. - somehow sounded eerily familiar. I can't imagine why. The military assessment was sobering. The Russian Army has been advancing. More slowly than initially planned, to be sure, but advancing. Unfortunately, the prospect of city after city in Ukraine systematically being razed to the ground does not seem unrealistic to me. |

Munich, movie was based on his book. A part from Fatherland I also recommend The Archangel or Pompeii. The Cicero trilogy also amazing.
Edit: all of them Enigma or An Officer and a Spy (there's a movie too) Last fiddled with by pinhodecarlos on 2022-03-16 at 12:47 |
