That's very irritatingly close. It is also a very impressive merit for the size. You have knocked 4 of your own records off the record watermarks list with this one. Is this the first gap to beat those records in your searching? If so you have been very lucky.

Hi Henry,

I am dusting off some old code and was just lucky. Shows again we have only just scratched the surface of the gaps out there!

Took 8 hours 20 minutes to prp the candidates and find this gap.

Kind regards
Michiel

2021-02-16, 10:39 #226 SethTro     "Seth" Apr 2019 10C16 Posts I converted some d3 rendering from svg to canvas so it's much faster; I also changed the csv file to be sent gzipped which reduced it's size by 4x. As a result the graphs page renders in ~1 second (instead of several seconds). Accordingly I increased the max gapsize viewable up to 160K https://primegaps.cloudygo.com/graphs?max=160000
2021-02-16, 10:50 #227 SethTro     "Seth" Apr 2019 22×67 Posts Random Musing There are only a few gaps left for some nice numeric limits. only 4 gaps < 20,000 with merit < 25 (2894, 15122, 19246, 19352) only 6 gaps < 50,000 with merit < 20 (36574, 38162, 42752, 49246, 49298, 49646) only 1 gap < 80,000 with merit < 15 (78542) only 6 gaps < 100,000 with merit < 12 (95278, 96638, 98002, 98122, 98818, 99418) I'm curious if people would have fun if I donated a small prize pool for these and some other records (the ~10 missing gaps below 125,000, new gaps with merit > 35, mega gaps > 2M) maybe $5 per gap +$10 for finishing each range and maybe adding a small listing to the prime list site of "people who helped close out ranges"? Any advice + input from the larger GIMPS community about offering small rewards would be appreciated. Attached Thumbnails

Is there any chance that the colours and legend could update if you restrict the range? Also is there a way I could reproduce this locally with a larger maximum range?

It should be moderately easy to run this locally. I believe the instruction at https://github.com/sethtroisi/prime-gap-record-server are up-to-date (please tell me if they are not or consider sending a PR updating them).
You will also need to modify line 695 of flask_serve.py (changing "min(160000, max_gap) to "min(LARGE_NUMBER, max_gap)")

Updating the legend might be hard; I'll make a stab at it but it may not work.

You are filling these in rapidly! Of the 25 missing gaps < 125,000 initially posted you've found 8 and DStevens, M.Jansen and I have found 1 each!
