Wow, that’s an outstanding poly sir! Better than the record deg 6 for a C211. Congratulations!

Is further searching even warranted?

It's definitely warranted. Using a 4% guideline for poly select to expected sieve time, this ~120 core-year job should take ~5 core-years of poly select.

I don't know Gimarel's resources, but I cannot imagine Ed, Gimarel, and I have put even half a core-year into this yet; I've done about one core-month so far. If, after 3-4x more searching, we have no other candidates within 10% of this score then there's a case to be made that we found the One True Gem.

There are more needles in this haystack.

I'm kind of just dabbling a bit currently. So, my search regions are minuscule and overlap others' though I might have slightly different parameters.

My resource is a GTX 2060 Super, running for about three days now. I've spend about 4.5 core-days for size-opt and root-sieve.

Thank you, EdH and swellman, for updating me on this poly cluster!
Congratulations, Gimarel, on such a good find! It looks exceptional compared to the chart data:

I'll see what I can do!
