So it seems to me that the game has a word list of its own, which it refers to in deciding whether guesses are acceptable. And that would be the word list to use if you want to "optimize" your guesses.

My approach, as mentioned earlier, has been through programming, and has also included the choice of three unique words to use, in order, as guesses. These words were chosen based on letter frequency.

For me, the interest has been in program modification, rather than puzzle solving.

Well, if you want to play the game don't be like me and go poking around in the JavaScript file for their word list. They use the words in order in the list.

I use a static list of "optimized" words that gets me sufficient letters before I even attempt serious guesses. Mostly have been doing in 5, but have 1 three and couple for fours. My list:

RATIO
LENDS
CHUMP
GAWKY

I'm going to have to expand the dictionary that my program uses. I mentally knew the word after the first two of my three standard clues, which had captured all five letters (two in their correct placement), so I didn't even need my program.This was good, since my program didn't find it.
