I have a PIII at 933MHz which has been successfully trial factoring exponents for several years. Last year or the year before I changed it from "trial factoring" to "trial factoring to low limits". It always uses the PrimeNet server to get and return work results. It has not reported a successful trial factor result since 06/18/13. The problem appears to be that the last 33 trial factors reported by it to the PrimeNet server "were not needed".
Is there any way to find out how many of the entries in my worktodo.txt file have already been completed by somebody else so that I won't be duplicating work that has already been done? |

http://www.mersenne.org/report_exponent/ will tell you if you put each exponent in the first box, and clear the second box. It can be a bit tedious if you have a lot to check.

I should clarify that this method will only be helpful if you were assigned the exponents through PrimeNet, and if those assignments are still outstanding (which they should be, as a poached result does not cancel an existing PrimeNet assignment).
