Default running programs in series

When I run ecm, I never know when a factor will be found, so I never know when a command will suddenly terminate.

Is it possible to make it so I can have a list of ecm tasks, and have it start at the top of the list, have the same number running as their are cores, and as soon as one stops, another one takes it's place? Even a a batch file that starts at the top of another file, and makes sure x-number of tasks are running at all times would be fabulous.

If you don't want to explain it to me, then help with search terms for Google would be much appreciated. :)

You can start with this:

and modify to work as you need it.

You could also look at the ECMNet Client/Server harness (Info here: http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=5492). Before I added some more boxes to my pool, I just ran the server and the client on the same machine, now I have a server and 2-4 PCs running curves.....
