Back in July we noticed the GIMPS wavefront approaching the gpuOwl breakover point to 6M FFT (a smidge below p = 107M), so reserved several hundred PRP assignments just under 107M which default to 6M but can be safely forced-run at 5.5M, and have run them at the latter smaller FFT length for the dual purpose of accuracy testing and throughput maximization. We divvied those up amongst our 4 desktop-rig GPUs, which run at a mix of system-clock settings from 2-4 depending on physical location of each GPU and resulting airflow+cooling profile. As the various faster-clocked GPUs finished their 5.5M batches and switched to larger exponents and 6M FFTs we noticed somethig interesting, in that the 4th GPU, the highest-indexed one per the ROCm diagnostics, became progressinly more unstable, in the sense that it would simply quit crunching and switch to idling mode at ever-greater frequency, necessitating a system reboot. It's not the GPU per se - swapping a different one from the same system with #4 made no difference, and the system runs completely reliably with just 3 GPUs - and there is no discernible change in system TDP, so something about the changed power profile resulting from all cards running PRPS at 6M has made a 4th card untenable. As a result, and also due to our desire to help offset the costs of a barebones Intel KNL system we just bought which will be getting used starting early next year for Fermat-number-related work, we have an XFX Radeon VII with specs as here for sale. The precise GPU is the first R7 we ever bought and the only one we bought new, back in mid-January at Amazon.com. It has given us 9 months of trouble-free 24/7 crunching. It's in great shape aside from some minor cosmetic damage to the mounting bracket which needed some hackage via right-ange bend in the extender-tabbed end and flattening of the originally-90-degree-dent section - see pic 1 for mounting-bracket-as-new - to allow mounting first in our old Intel Haswell ATX-case system, and more recently a small drilled hole in each metal end tab to allow affixing to a custom metal standalone 'foot' mount which sat just off the end of the mobo of the testframe system with its trio of mobo-mounted GPUs - see pic 2. Pics 3-5 show the card-as-is, including the serial number. The fans are in great shape, still "like new" quiet, and we have used compressed air to blast the innards clean of dust, and an alcohol swab to carefully clean the dust off the inward side of each of the individual fan blades, which is resistant to simple blowing-out. We prefer to try selling to a fellow M-forumite first - that way we as the seller avoid the 10% ebay+paypal gouge and the buyer avoids state sales tax (8.5% in my home state of Taxifornia). If interested, PM us your best offer in US$- bidding will close 7 days from posting of this thread. No bids under$500 will be considered, and we reserve the right to cancel the sealed-bid auction at any time, for any reason. Payment will be via Paypal - we need to look into whether there is a charge for the Paypal invoice-billing payment method, which offers seller protections - if so, payment will be via the free "send money to friends & family" option, and the fact that we're a longterm forumite and GIMPS contributor will be your guarantee that the card is as advertised or your money back. Winner bid will be posted in this thread, and winning bidder wil add $15 to their Paypal payment to cover USPS Priority mail shipping. Sorry, US addresses only - we've no desire to deal with the hassle of a physical trip to the local post office and the attendant customs paperwork. Let's see - my OP shows time of 12:32, one hour earlier than I posted it in term of Pacific Daylight Time. Thus the forum is already displaying Pacific Standard Time in terms of what I currently see. So, bidding closes at 12:32 pm PST on 5 Nov, whatever universal time that corresponds to. It displayed for me as 15:32 CDT (confirmed by my post 2 as CDT) which is UTC -0500; PDT is 2 hours west of CDT so -0700; PST is -0800. So 20:32 UTC, check. The forum supposedly displays time based on each user's profile setting daylight or standard handling. https://www.mersenneforum.org/profil...do=editoptions (You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to..) I have to manually reset the DST mode twice a year when the clock changes. There's a thread floating around somewhere about it. The card arrived very quickly, well packaged, and (of course) as described. I'm happy to give it a home. It will have to spend some of its time doing structure-from-motion calculations, but its free time (or rather, my free time) will see it crunching through ffts for GIMPS

Thanks, Ernst!
