In the Breeding thread we have been discussing the difficulty of keeping the NFS queues filled. It would be easier if we had more ECM, but it is redundant to add that to NFS because yoyo already does it so well. BOINC users are often motivated by badges - could we create joint badges that require doing both yoyo ECM work and NFS work?

Wouldn't it be easier to just submit the numbers we want pretested to yoyo? The admins are active here and have been quite accommodating.

What we need is a way to attract some of the CPU cycles currently going to NFS@Home to be redirected to ECM work. I thought a joint badge would be a way to get some people currently throwing large resources to NFS@home to split off some yoyo work. I suppose it might backfire and attract resources going to yoyo to redirect to NFS. |

I think two things must be done. First increase the ecm points per wu at yoyo and second create a challenge after the penthalon is over, 18 June. The former people will notice that ecm pays more and therefore will attract more clients.
