red square just for fun. avoid hitting the blue rectangles or the sides. 10 seconds is good, 18 seconds is great, 60 seconds or more is phenomenal.

Ugh, using my little laptop mouse, I had some difficulty reaching 18s.

As an update, I got 47 s after trying a little more.
![]() Only read the solution after you've tried it! Use a computer slow enough so that when you move the red square, all of the blue squares freeze :D. 80 seconds! Last fiddled with by fetofs on 2007-03-29 at 11:52 |

After learning the first few dodges, I got up to 25s. I guess that you
could quickly learn to survive indefinitely. Like playing squash, you stand in the middle and let the other bloke do the running. I once achieved a run of ~200 wins at Freecell. Now that takes discipline! David |

![]() I am currently at 500+ consecutive freecell wins. It could have been 850-ish but I accidentally conceded a few times, when I intended to gooback. |

Freecell is notable because in the blurb it says
"It is believed but unproven that freecell is always soluble" On the contrary, it is not difficult to construct an insoluble starting position. Any offers? David |

I think the "always solvable" quote was intended to apply to the 32000 games loaded in the system. I've been working my way through them to see if it's true. Later OS's have more games. Last fiddled with by wblipp on 2008-04-24 at 20:33 |

I found it a worthy game, and one in which there is great variation in difficulty. If the aces and twos are buried deep, one needs much foresight in choosing moves to make. Last fiddled with by davieddy on 2008-04-24 at 23:07 |

I agree - it's a wonderful game. I was curious about the solvability of all games for some time, until I stumbled upon the webpage above. |
