2020 project goals
Below are some goals for 2020 that CRUS can shoot for:
1. Prove 5 bases; completed 2020/12/29! 2. Search all bases with 2 k remaining (at n<300K) to n>=300K; completed 2020/11/29! 3. Search all bases with <= 8 k's remaining (at n<200K) to n>=200K; completed 2020/12/14! 4. Complete all bases <= 4000 k's remaining (at n=2500) to n>=10K; completed 2020/09/23! 5. Complete all bases with difficulty < 25000* to difficulty >= 25000; completed 2020/12/06! [Many will overlap with goals 2 & 3] 6. Find 100 top 3000 primes; 21 primes to go. 7. Find 25 top 1000 primes; 9 primes to go. 8. Find 5 top 500 primes; completed 2020/06/17! * - As shown on the unproven conjectures page here: www.noprimeleftbehind.net/crus/vstats_new/crus-unproven.htm I'm confident that we can accomplish most or all of these goals. All help is greatly appreciated!

For goals 2 thru 5 it doesn't state the number of bases at the start of the year so it is impossible to know how much work has been done compared to what is left.

#3 and 5 are a sure thing now. BOINC and I have all of those reserved already. I'll be done with my final base in a few days.
As for #1...BOINC also has multiple one k bases reserved starting from n=400K. They've already proved two of them in the last month bringing the count down to 1. Now it's just a matter of luck whether they get the final one or not by Dec. 31st. The primes goals were too aggressive and have little chance now. I'll lower them for next year. I hope so. I hate this year. Today my power supply died, the first time I could rescue and restore the hole database, two days ago I have found a win10 bug which caused the PC to restart (VSS service issue with VM). I hope that is now fixed too. Lets see what brings us tomorrow :( |
