I can't see where the PCIe slot that you would put the Infiniband card in on that machine is, but it is really a very respectable machine for £300; sixteen 2GHz Sandy Bridge cores ought to be a lot faster than four 4GHz Haswell cores, memory bandwidth should be better, and you'd have difficulty building a 16GB i7-4790K machine for that price.
I've *got* two Infiniband DDR cards and a cable; if it were not for my vow to buy computers only in odd-numbered years, I'd buy four today. |
