Another bunch of 12 P-1 results sent by hand (using copy/paste on the web form), the same happened with the first from the bunch. I think there is a parsing error there, the assignment key is parsed wrong. The other 11 were "completed", the first was "expired" (and most probably my computer, should I not attended it, will continue to work on it again and again, for ever , getting "error 40")

I have believed that the attitude supported by this community is that assignments should be respected.
The worker has elected to undertake ECM work, which is hunting for factors, not leading to LL prime testing.
I believe the decent thing to do is allow the existing assignment to run its course and then submit the factor.

Those trained "in the arts" need to go exactly as far as they need to, but no further.

I twice had a person threaten me with a machete (a broad knife). Another time with a gun.

A separate time a friend of mine had a gun held to his head, and he talked the assalient out of the situation.

Being calm and logical goes a long way. For whatever that is worth.

Indeed. Otherwise one would become arrested and charged with assault.
The Sensei with whom I had most contact admired Jackie Chan movies wherein he would go to great lengths to present obstacles and distractions before embracing the need for direct contact with an attacker.
I don't claim to be highly trained, but hopefully his perspective in the back of my mind helped to save me in that situation.

There is no issue of reassignment, since mersenne.org does not conveniently offer assignment of such low numbers at all.

Oh, I think I assumed it was assigned to someone for an LL check, and if it was in the 60M-70M range it could be reassigned fast if it were suspect. I guess that means it was assigned for PM1 or TF or something of that nature... but still, I'd just check in my factor if it were me.

The exponent status page has no record of this work being completed by anyone currently, and neither does the mersenne.ca page. I don't think this is a case of simple poaching, but I don't know why I can't submit this result (other results are submitted without problem).

That's the issue; Primenet isn't accepting the 72 -> 75 results because it doesn't see your 71 to 72. I'd suggest resubmitting them all again, in order.
