Does someone have a motherboard with the X79 chipset? If so, can you post specifications and GIMPS benchmarks?

Here's my benchmark.
Asus P9X79 LE with an Ivy Bridge-E i7-4820K, at stock 3.7GHz.
16gb of Mushkin memory running in quad channel. Memory is capable of 7-7-7-24 timing at PC3-12800, since this is a brand new build its at 11-11-11-30 timings right now.

By now I figured out that the end of this year we will see the debut of the X99 chipset with DDR-4 memory, which by default will be using four memory channels. Of course it will remain to be seen what the price levels will be initially and how they will develop. Meanwhile I will have to do with a quad core Q6600 that I bought just over half a year after introduction at the time.

I am also waiting for ddr4 before replacing a Q6600
I plan on getting skylake rather than haswell-e though.
Only 2133 mhz support for ddr4 is a bit low.

Yes because 4266 MHz equivalent DDR3 is slow.

I doubt people expected 2400 MHz DDR3 to be mainstream back when DDR2 was still the latest and greatest.

Only because it is quad channel.
2133 is the slowest that JEDEC is planning to standardize for DDR4. It will actually be slower than 2133 DDR3.
