Default Why don't I have the resources for a large exponent, but I do for a larger one?

I'm puzzled by this. I would like to test the exponent 332,311,079.

https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...exp_hi=&full=1

which has not factors under 2^80. If I try to set that with manual testing, setting the minimum as 332,311,078 and the maximum as 332,311,080, the server reports

Error code: 40 Error text: No assignment available meeting CPU, program code and work preference requirements, cpu_id: 2399764, cpu # = 0, user_id = 244634

However, if I leave the minimum at the same value of 332,311,078, but don't specify any maximum, I get the the larger exponent 332,600,537

https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...exp_hi=&full=1

to test. So how come I don't have the resources to test 332,311,079, but I do have them to test the larger exponent 332,600,537? It does not make any logical sense to me!

If your exponent is not assigned, put a valid line with the work type you want to do in your worktodo.txt file (with a N/A key), then start p95 and force a manual report. It may register the exponent to you, and you get a valid key. Regardless of registration you have, you can do any type of work you want, and report back when finished. I mean, there is no harm if you register it as LL with p95 and do PRP using a GPU. You just have to keep it registered somehow to ensure that someone else will not duplicate your efforts, wasting his/her cycles and yours (and sometimes, robing you of the result, if (s)he is faster). When you are done with it, unreserve it. I personally have exponents registered to LL for which I do PRP, and it is common that people register LL/PRP when doing higher TF or P-1 (see also how GPU72 keeps hold of its registered exponents). Moreover, this range is high enough that nobody will bother, unless you hold your exponent for years and do no work, or no visible progress. Here we all work on common sense and respect.

Don't put N/A as your assignment ID. If you do PrimeNet will not give you an assignment ID. If you want to do what LaurV said (without the N/A) it can work. There are some restrictions to what you can get "self-assigned".

So what should one put instead of N/A? Leave two commas next to each other, or what?
