I'm thinking of doing factoring, say to 2^62, somewhere in this range. I don't want to overlap someone else's range or duplicate work. Is there any current work between 79.3M & 100M or thereabouts?

Yes, I've already worked 79.3M-82.0M to 2^63 and am currently doing
82.0-83.0M to 2^63. At the moment there seems to be no way to track ranges above 79.3M, like the assignment tracking system in the LMH forum. |

Well, the v5 web pages provide factoring limits information all the way up to 1000M (1G)--as for an assignment tracking system, wouldn't that be somewhat easy to set up here in the >79.3M forum? Most of the information in this subforum is way outdated anyway, so such a system could be started as a clean slate (thus not requiring lots of digging through this subforum to determine who did what)--all that would be needed is to use the v5 server pages to determine which ranges are factored to what levels.

I'm using the V5 server to get exponents in ranges of 1M.
As for setting up a tracking system in this forum, there would have to be a volunteer willing to track ranges and maintain the information as a "sticky" thread. Any volunteers? |

At the moment I think a tracking system is not needed - so far there's no one working in this area apart from you, Graff. I'll start a thread for any range I take on, but there's another task I want to tackle first... so many numbers, so few computers!

I've started TF-ing 90M-91M to 2^62, via V5.

I've started on 99M-100M to 2^62, using the v5 server. It's on a slower machine, so it will take a couple months.

With my current range nearly finished, my next range
will be 84.0-85.0M to 2^63. ETC is Aug. 20. Last fiddled with by Graff on 2008-07-30 at 00:56 |
