Okay, I guess that would eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by the program running on a 32-bit OS.

I guess I'd try downloading a fresh copy of sr1sieve, then, to see if that fixes things.

Also, does the 32-bit version work fine on the same system with the same sieve file? That might help us isolate the problem a bit (i.e. that would eliminate the possibility of a bad sieve file causing the problem).

I compile the Win64 executable using a cross-compiler from Linux, and don't have any way to test it myself, so it is possible that there is a fault in the executable.

It would be most useful if you could test the executable in sr2sieve-1.6.13-windows-x86-64.zip on the same machine, just to rule out the possibility that there is something specific to your system. There is a test input file with instructions for sr5sieve (also works with sr2sieve) at http://www.geocities.com/g_w_reynold...s/sr5check.zip.

Could you also try sr1sieve-1.1.11-windows-x86-64.zip? There is a similar test file for sr1sieve at http://www.geocities.com/g_w_reynold...e/sr1check.zip.

Hi geoff,

"sr2sieve-1.6.13-windows-x86-64" runs great on 64-bit Vista.

"sr1sieve-1.1.11-windows-x86-64" crashes with the same unknown Exception Code: c0000005 at the same point on 64-bit Vista.

I managed to build "sr1sieve-1.2.2" with MSYS and "mingw-w64-bin_x86-64-mingw32_20071021" on 64-bit Vista but I had to set "ASSEMBLER=no". However, it crashed at the same point as well. I have the memory dump if you would like to examine it.

sr1sieve-1.2.2 completely outperforms everything else on Gentoo x86_64. Thanks!

I have found a bug, but am not 100% sure that it is the one causing your crash. See here for details.

If sr1sieve version 1.2.3 still crashes, please send me a copy of your input file and exact command line used.
