My favourite, which I have very carefully preserved, is my rejection letter from Microsoft Research.

I got the job and stayed there almost 7 years. The letter was an administrative cock-up.

Today I’ve been all day in Cambridge. Next Tuesday and Wednesday as well. This new company has two offices, one in London where I’m based and the other one in Cambridge where I need to be once per month.

I do believe that having a university degree is not worth since there’s lack of specialists persons on the engineering environment.
Also by having a 5 year degree, master degree and postgraduation degree just delays personal life goals as well as delaying etting into job market, pay taxes, etc.

I funny story, if I may... I was once asked by the local United Nations office to do a special closed-door training session for the Royal Barbados Police Force on cyber-security and forensics. I offered to do it for free, but they said they had to pay me because it was under the auspices of a larger UN backed consulting exercise.

I had to spend over an hour completing a very long and involved on-line resume building process where they wanted to know almost everything about me, including my blood type and penis size (that's an exaggeration, but only slightly...).

Their organizing representative came back to me all consternated saying basically that she didn't think they'd be able to hire me for the training because I didn't have a degree...

The punchline to this whole thing is after I completed the aforementioned submission of highly personally identifiable information their system emailed me back the completed document along with the URL of the system and the username and password I gave ***in plain-text***, with a note saying that if I needed to update the information for any reason the included credentials was how to access it....

Both letters are boringly biolerplate. This is exactly what thousands of companies respond to tens of thousands of applicants every day.

And the funny part is all the bull corporation time wasting polite nonsense, right?

At my lair I don't bother with pointless rejection letters. I just tell the failed wannabe-minion they are worse useless and show them the door. They are left with no uncertainty about the result.

I am not bother by both letters. For me it shows incompetence and I wouldn’t like to work for those companies either way.

I had another case for a role at hitachi uk site where 3 days before my interview I contacted them to cancel it since I was already engaged with my new employer but on the day on the interview I got like two emails with the conference call details. Incompetents again.
