Any experience with stuck GPU Fans...

I recently had a fan start grinding and freezing on a 5 year old XFX Radeon card. After a few back and forths with support, they are sending me a new fan unit for the card.

I got that sort of welcome solution from Gigabyte. Mine was under warranty, though I was a second-hand user.

Then I went into the NVIDIA GPU tool it gave me as message something like: "No GPU detected".

Totally guessing, I might assume something burned out and deemed it unworkable.

If you do decide to "pitch it" and the shipping isn't too much to go south of your border, I might be interested in trying to revive it. It is probably a long shot, but maybe there's an SMT fuse somewhere or an FET that gave its life to save the rest of the card - maybe, even, a thermal fuse. Of course, if you're so inclined, you might look for these possibilities as well.
