I will not pick any moves nor will I set up an alarm clock to go and read any threads. Life is too short as it is.

Like I said, a PM is expected. It doesn't mean that I had installed an alarm clock to ring when I get a PM either. If you think about a move for six days, then what is a few hours compared to that - to see it posted? If it is more than a few hours, then please PM any other redskin.

I'd just like to say that I think that one sure way of making a team, possibly both teams, lose interest in the game is if a move is arbitrarily made by the independent adjudicator. It goes against the spirit of this game which is a consultation game between two teams, with the team members all enjoying hopefully equal input in the process of deciding on their moves. Individual moves obviously have huge impact on the subsequent course of the game, and one unwanted move can completely ruin it.

Also, please let's remember that there are all sorts of legitimate reasons why a team may, on occasion, fail to make its move on time. My plea is for understanding and leniency on any occasional lapse by either team. Let's aim to enjoy the game without worrying about any incidental time defaults.

EDIT: I wrote the above before reading Serge's very reasonable statement of how he intends to handle things.

We are in (non-violent) agreement!

In the interest of saving those few hours, I would propose for the team champions to both:
1. post the move here (consider it a "patch" to the "program" which is the full protocol) and
2. PM me. (The diagrams and a formal protocol are good to have, but are they really essential)?
3. Practice sax. (Optional. Homage to Raman)

This way, there will be no lag in information flow, only in protocoling (and the latter will be relatively small. Few hours).

I was never suggesting that you should set alarm clocks to do that.

No, you didn't, but how else would I know that 7 days have passed? I really mean it when I say that I don't read these threads.

I meant that more in a sense of a chess clock: When the move has been made, a virtual clock button has to be pressed and the 7 days have to start ticking for the other team. I thought we don't need that.

That said, if any team strongly thinks that the other team is overdue for a move, (...you guessed it!) PM me. That would serve the 'checks and balances'. I am not a gendarme.
