The manual upload results from my mfacto system says there is zero results in the file. It was working a couple days ago.

It´s probably a server issue. It´s been kind of funny today.

Happened again this morning.
No factor lines are correctly read, but the factor lines are not detected. |

Check the formatting of the text file. I've had that issue before. Check for colons, in particular.

How would a results file get altered from the standard format?
I think that this is a recurring situation which may involve the relative health (time since reboot) of the server. |

It's been well documented that Primenet can get into trouble after a few weeks -- it is unable to launch its "child processes" which are used to confirm that a "Factor Found" claim is actually true. There's some sort of leak / starvation -- file-handles, process-handles, memory, or something... It has been suggested that Primenet automatically "reboot" the services in question every day or every week or so, to mask the issue (won't actually fix the issue, but will prevent it from manifesting). The "powers that be" appear to prefer to have "a human in the loop" (when they're available) for such operations, but only when the users complain about it (once again). (Just in case it wasn't clear, that was meant as a "squeaky wheel" type of comment....) |

I don't know how it would happen, but I can personally guarantee that one of my results.txt a few weeks ago came out with TF:65:68: or whatever it was spelled out like TF6568 which was bad enough that the server couldn't read it.

Also I am currently having the issue with factors found.
M6566____ has a factor: ________________________ [TF:72:73*:mfaktc 0.20 barrett76_mul32_gs] found 1 factor for M6566____ from 2^72 to 2^73 (partially tested) [mfaktc 0.20 barrett76_mul32_gs] EDIT: I should specify that this submission (without the holes, silly!) is triggering no response. No not needed error, no not-a-factor error, nothing. Last fiddled with by TheMawn on 2014-02-01 at 00:39 |

Me too.
My TF results with no factors - accepted correctly. My TF results with factors - not accepted, no errors, nothing. Like Chalsall said last time I saw investigation into problems with results acceptance was the 'factored results' had a different process and that can 'have issues'. Can we have someone look into this? Thanks. -- Craig |
