I've read others having this problem, and I too have encountered it. I had picked up 2 shiny new LL's and had exited P95, edited the worktodo so tehy would be run first and started P95. A few days later I was looking at the assignment list on GPU to 72 and noticed that I only had one of the 2 assignments running, and chalsall told be it had been unreserved in GIMPS and to send him my log, so I looked in it and saw right after I started P95 when I added the 2 exps that it unreserved one of them.
In addition, I used worktodo.add to tack on a few more P-1 assignments I had gotten from GPU to 72. After seeing the posts about items being unreserved I decided to check my assignments vs my worktodo and I notice that several of them were not in my worktodo. Less than 5 of the 15 I tried to add were in the list and worktodo.add was gone. There seems to either be a minor glitch (with the unreserved exp's at least) or is there a limit to the number of assignments that can be in your worktodo and trying to add more than that causes them to vanish. |

What do you have
MaxExponents=in prime.txt set for? If they are too low P95 will clean out the "excess", I believe. EDIT: I have these set at MaxExponents=30, UnreserveDays=365 Last fiddled with by kladner on 2011-11-29 at 16:41 |

But with regards to TF / P-1 assignments from GPU to 72, the good news is because the candidates are owned by the system, they are not lost back to PrimeNet. I will add a feature to the Assignments page such that people can sort by assignment date (in addition to the current Exponent number), and a function to regenerate the worktodo entries for selected exponents so people don't have to do this by hand. Unfortunately, because of the Anonymous transfer trick we are using for LL/DC candidates, any returned to PrimeNet are gone -- GPU to 72 cannot get them back. |

Whatever the default is... there are only 18 currently in this one (prob about 25 total after the attempted add) and the report for time to go on the last one is mid January. The unreserve happened to the 1st assignment in the list when I started the program (I think from worker 2 or 3), the loss came from using worktodo.add.

I'm pretty sure the default is 60 days (which is around the end of january). If you have more work than that, it will be unreserved. Try setting UnreserveDays to at least 180 and try again.

I know it's longer than 60 days, one of my systems has all of the 'extra' LL's that were accidentally generated when I started P95 on a new system without chainging from "whatever" and it has completion dates up through next July.

Mine was set to 60 days before I changed it. Did you check yours? That's the best way to know, rather than us arguing. It would be prime.txt

From undoc.txt:
Normally, the program will unreserve an exponent if it is scheduled to start thirty days after the Test/Primenet Days of work to get value. You can adjust this interval by setting in prime.txt: UnreserveDays=n where n is the number of days. You should increase this value if you are loading up worktodo.txt with a large amount of work and do not want any of the work to be unreserved. MaxExponents=n Quote:
This is NOT a simple "Gee, I should have looked at Prime.txt" case. I have looked in Prime.txt and seeing NO UnreserveDays=n/MaxExponents=n to me means it is at a default value which is unknown. I have READ undoc.txt and observed the 30 days statement, that is either false due to upgraded programming or for some magical reason does not affect the exponents on my machines. |
