Not sure about the salmon-pink walls though. There must be someone I can write to to get things changed. I very carefully got my success rate above 40% over 100 games and now it's started rapidly falling.

From my padded cell: welcome the club!
I can't get the salmon-pink reference.

Re "Freecell", I managed a winning streak of >200 games.

I eventually got too pissed (off) to spend the effort on
maintaining the streak when confronted by a difficult game.

I found it amusing that the blurb pronounced that it was
believed that it was always possible.

I found it simple to find some counter examples where it was
evidently impossible.

Not working here anyway. Winning streak of >200. Wow. I using an iphone app, there is a correlation between how much I'm concentrating and my winning % (obviously) but I've only managed 'several' consecutive wins. Was that turning one card at a time or three? One is easier? (Haven't researched at all, would spoil it a bit.) Last fiddled with by Flatlander on 2011-06-09 at 13:59

well the turn one at a time might help sometimes because with 3 if you find a card that you can't get to you can't use it but flipping one at a time you don't have that problem.

He said that was with Freecell. Klondike (where you turn cards), is much more difficult to win.

Doesn't the Windows version only allow one go through the pack though?

2011-06-09, 19:58 #10 gd_barnes     May 2007 Kansas; USA 287A16 Posts At freecell.net, I currently have a winning streak of 133 games at the standard 8x4 format of freecell. My ID at the site is Gary_Barnes. But I prefer not to have to think too much so I play the easier 9x4 game. My current winning streak at 9x4 is 366 games but my best all time is 1125 straight wins. I'm sure there are several people here that could easily top those if they want to spend the time. I hadn't played there in a little over 2 years but I decided to play a couple of games just now. Go to freecell.net and click on "scores" and you'll see some amazing streaks that are far longer than mine. They even have timed tournaments. It's a really cool site for freecell. Although easy to construct non-winnable games, in a randomly dealt game, it is possible to win well over 99.9% of the time. Unlike "regular" solitare or Klondike, freecell is almost a purely skill game.
