Well, George should be back today. Let's see what he has to say.

It appears rather more fun to speculate in suspense! I can only hope our slight can for a time fend off so many clever analysts! Ernst and the usual verifiers have been finally notified to begin their run(s), and George is back just in time for the fun.

So it sounds like jrk and me are verifying a fake exponent where fake algorithm residue were placed on.

I got the first-alert email. You should have it in your AOL account, Ernst.

But remember: after this thread has quiesced, the cabal will analyze its postings (especially that suggestion) and devise countermeasures, so all you will have accomplished is to have alerted them to that possibility.

Luke, I think you are the only one to get an email alert.

The server only sends emails when a new prime is found. That is 2 years for problems to set in the server mail system setup. I had assumed that when the server changed IP addresses last year that it broke the email system. That one email notification got out, but no others did is weird.

I got in at 1:30AM last night. I downloaded the server logs and emailed the prime finder to get the results.txt file and last save file. Then I went to bed.
I've got a bunch of accumulated chores and errands to do, but I'll keep you posted as best I can.

[UPDATE] I just got the notification email. Apparently, Scott fixed the server's email setup this morning (or sent it out manually from another computer).

I got the e-mail this morning as well. I just realized now the prime was found a couple of days ago. Oh well, I just got back from vacation last night so worked out well. I'm not sure if Ernst is trying this out on his new multi-threaded Mlucas but I am now doing a verification using Glucas.

Unfortunately it is a shared system which is being used by other people as well so we are looking at more than two weeks right now.

Jeff.

I got the e-mail this morning as well. I also just got back from vacation last night so the timing was fine. A verification run is underway now but unfortunately it is on a shared system so may take a couple of weeks to complete.

Ernst, are you trying this out on your new multi-threaded Mlucas?

Jeff.

Ernst could be faster than anyone. He's got the 2306K FFT implementation in his code. (That, of course, if p is under 44,300,000.)

That is what I am assuming, he has his fast code and access to fast systems now. I will probably just end up being the verification double-check.
