I did not change anything on the PC and I have FixedHardwareUID=1 in prime.txt. This is what is reported in prime.log: Code: [Mon Dec 1 09:43:26 2008 - ver 25.7] Updating computer information on the server URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=uc&g=fbc232b05bd2d23818299d018d1fea14&hg=b1858d083d8208d73cd1c591083cee0a&wg =07ba04d7b0a02b7f5a0377101252720f&a=Linux64,Prime95,v25.7,build+3&c=AMD+Athlon(tm)+64+X2+Dual+Core+Processor+4600%2B&f=Prefetch,3DNo w!,SSE,SSE2&L1=64&L2=512&np=2&hp=1&m=2012&s=2412&h=16&r=2006&ss=38027&sh=09D6D615A3C4638BDB8FD6A7A3EEAEA5 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=33 pnErrorDetail=CPU identity mismatch: g=fbc232b05bd2d23818299d018d1fea14 hg=b1858d083d8208d73cd1c591083cee0a wg=07ba04d7b0a02b7f5a037 7101252720f ==END== PrimeNet error 33: CPU identity mismatch CPU identity mismatch: g=fbc232b05bd2d23818299d018d1fea14 hg=b1858d083d8208d73cd1c591083cee0a wg=07ba04d7b0a02b7f5a0377101252720f Updating computer information on the server URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=uc&g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365&hg=b1858d083d8208d73cd1c591083cee0a&wg =07ba04d7b0a02b7f5a0377101252720f&a=Linux64,Prime95,v25.7,build+3&c=AMD+Athlon(tm)+64+X2+Dual+Core+Processor+4600%2B&f=Prefetch,3DNo w!,SSE,SSE2&L1=64&L2=512&np=2&hp=1&m=2012&s=2412&h=16&r=2006&u=Kaboom&cn=Mediacenter&ss=25575&sh=1120B5D2140EA9B803359AE02DFB5980 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=0 pnErrorDetail=SUCCESS g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365 u=Kaboom un=PPed72 cn=Mediacenter od=0 ==END== Exchanging program options with server URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=po&g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365&nw=2&w=0&Priority=1&DaysOfWork=15&DayM emory=768&NightMemory=1536&DayStartTime=1020&NightStartTime=1439&RunOnBattery=1&ss=35806&sh=45CF1188610A21F471568197FE888D49 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=0 pnErrorDetail=SUCCESS od=1 ==END== Sending expected completion date for M46944031: Feb 10 2009 URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=ap&g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365&k=3BBD3A5DA1FF296F4652ED2F8F488550&sta ge=LL&c=0&p=9.985010&d=1209600&e=6178281&ss=14514&sh=C9C455C6D953C0CF46057189114F49F3 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=0 pnErrorDetail=SUCCESS od=1 ==END== Sending expected completion date for M46944031: Feb 10 2009 URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=ap&g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365&k=3BBD3A5DA1FF296F4652ED2F8F488550&sta ge=LL&c=0&p=9.985010&d=1209600&e=6178281&ss=14514&sh=C9C455C6D953C0CF46057189114F49F3 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=0 pnErrorDetail=SUCCESS ==END== Sending expected completion date for M46943977: Feb 10 2009 URL: http://v5.mersenne.org/v5server/?v=0.95&px=GIMPS&t=ap&g=56f82e30c7d92c25c6f7be35a2022365&k=6DF47DBA23A80CA21EC22DA0BF742969&stage=LL&c=1&p=10.438214&d=1209600&e=6147168&ss=8012&sh=C5C8FFDAA30FF8BADC9437D85FE7E105 RESPONSE: pnErrorResult=0 pnErrorDetail=SUCCESS ==END== It appeared to have sent completion dates for the two exponents with the new GUID, so I canceled the CPU with the older GUID from the "Computer Details" page in my account, but it also deleted the two assignments from the "Assignment Details" page. Are they lost and should I unreserve them or is there something that can be done to get them back? I would hate to crunch on them until February and then have them rejected. If I check their status on the server they appear to be assigned to ANONYMOUS.

Were they generated initially on a Linux or Windows machine? Were they then run on the other operating system? I ask because the problem is your Linux client is sending a Windows GUID. Linux systems send NULL for the Windows GUID. The server thinks there shouldn't be a Windows GUID - thus a mismatch.

I fixed a bug on the server. AP (assignment progress) will now transfer ownership of the assignment to your new computer GUID. Either wait a day for the next sending of expected completion dates or manually force it from the menus. Your assignments should reappear on the web page.

This worked! Thanks a lot. I PM'ed you the details you asked for in the previous post.

This has been discussed in a few other forums though a resolution has not been proposed, that is, if there needs to be one.

I have one PC that I reinstalled Windows XP. And it got a new GUID. Probably explainable.

Another PC new has 3 entries: 2 as Q9550 and 1 as a PIII Xeon.

For now I have been ignoring them since the assignments and results are all fine.

That's probably what happened with mine. I recently reinstalled Windows XP on that PC.

I have fixed 2 bugs in this regard:

1) If you dual-boot between Windows and Linux, you could get the dreaded CPU IDENTITY MISMATCH error if the cpu was originally registered by the Linux machine.

2) If you switch users in Vista (and maybe other Windows versions) there is some kind of permissions problem in getting the Windows SID. Thus, a CPU IDENTITY MISMATCH error. This is fixed in the unreleased 25.8 build 2.

You can get this situation in normal day-to-day operation if you change your CPU, upgrade or re-install Windows.

Logon and check out the CPUs web page. Just today I added a merge CPUs capability. Try it out.

So possibly Curtis Cooper will have a realistic chance to overtake "ANONYMOUS" in the Top Producers list...

Altough: When you look through the list of Users joined today, you see that 5 users have signed in as ANONYMOUS today. Looks like the registration with a user name is not as trivial or user friendly as intended...

BTW: With the Flip-to-Anonymous-bug (hopefully) fixed, I consider to upgrade my computers from 24.14 to 25.8 when build 2 is released.
