They are already well sieved to about 8T and we can start testing them at once. Let's decide how to proceed: a) Sort all cadidates by n and create test files like we do in our drives. b) Leave a few Ks for people like Cruelty and Curtis who prefer to crunch their own Ks and allow reservation of large blocks, like 700-750k, 700-800k or even 700-1000k and test only the rest in a drive. Let me know what do you think. The number of candidates is given below. Code: k Cnt Per1000n --------------------- 153 20442 68.1 111 19224 64.1 189 18068 60.2 171 16989 56.6 159 14210 47.4 123 13589 45.3 183 11155 37.2 225 8450 28.2 219 6801 22.7 --------------------- Total 128928 429.8 FFT Lengths (on P-4) for n=225 and n=111 respectively: 48k, for n less than 803460 - 828513 56k, for to n less than 933955 - 963183 64k, for other n to 1M Last fiddled with by Kosmaj on 2009-09-15 at 22:04
2007-02-03, 04:54 #2 VBCurtis     "Curtis" Feb 2005 Riverside, CA 19×223 Posts Since we aren't starving for new team work, how about allowing users for 2 or 3 weeks to reserve large blocks/entire k-values, then making a team drive out of remaining unreserved work? I am currently re-sieving nearly all of my reservations since sr1sieve is so much more efficient, so I may run out of LLR work in a couple weeks while waiting for the sieves to catch up. I'll do a little planning/forecasting on my current work in the next few days, and would like the oportunity to grab one of these k's if it turns out I'll need some LLR work. -Curtis Edit: I thought about it a few minutes, and I'd like to tackle k=111 from 700k to 1M. 2007-12-03, 09:17 #3 Kosmaj     Nov 2003 1110001001102 Posts After a recent post by Masser I decided to provide test files with all Ks sorted by exponent available on-line. I think it's better this way, so that people who want to try them can do so freely without mailing me or anybody else. They were initially sieved to about 8.9T by Masser, and Curtis sieved them further to 10.1T. He is still sieving the 7 Ks available in test files. k=111 is reserved by Curtis who already reached n=900k and plans to go to 1M. I did k=189 to n=770k and stopped there. k=189 will be added to 7 Ks when/if we reach 770k. To people who may ask about the priority of this effort: I consider this low priority, lower than the 5th Drive. But these are nice Ks, and test files are small and convenient for beginners. If you want to reserve any files, please announce so in this thread. Thanks.
