Ten day quarantine ended. Apparently our nephew was not shedding virus 36 hours before becoming symptomatic. So far his case is not serious.

Great news!

I recommend some decompression, and to keep drinking plenty of fluids.

Bad news. Now he wonders out, instead of staying home and fixing P95.
I don't know why I am posting this in "happy me" thread...

After weeks of waiting for a new contract i finally got one; I am gonna be a part of the FAIR Project!

I will conduct work on the Dipole Magnets; the last tests before assembly process in 1-2 years. https://www.gsi.de/en/researchaccele...h_for_fair.htm

I cant wait to start working.

2 years ago i visited the DESY in Hamburg and i hope to see a bit from the GSI over the months / years I will be working there. ^^

Yuck, only 5.27Gops from 300k cores; averaging a mere 17.5kops each. Are they using tech from the 70's?

That's an error, also in the German version. They meant to say 5.27 GFlops per Watt. In 2014, it could achieve 316.7 TFlops.

Smile Happy 5-SPRP Day!

Today is a very special day, the first one of its kind in almost a decade. I live in the US, where MM/DD/YY is the preferred notation for dates, so for me, today is 1/30/21, and if you remove the slashes, 13021 is a strong pseudoprime to the base 5. It is not prime, as 13021 = 29 x 449. The last date like this was over 9 years ago on 10/23/11 (102311 is a strong pseudoprime to base 5 as well). Only 45 days from now, it will be March 16, 2021 (3/16/21) and 31621 is a strong pseudoprime to base 3 (31621 = 103 x 307). Unfortunately, we have not had a 2-SPRP date since 1999 (4/27/99).
