Good! They did it intentionally, to teach you two things:
1. Always lock your computer, no matter where you go or for how long.
2. Don't go to the bathroom during production hours. Pee in your pants!

I'd love to see http://www.alpertron.com.ar/QUAD.HTM converted! Probably not so easy, though.

I'm converting the applets to Javascript according to their size slowly because I almost have no free time. So far there are 5 applets converted:

http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ULAM.HTM
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/GAUSSPR.HTM
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/FSQUARES.HTM
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/FCUBES.HTM
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/CONTFRAC.HTM

The next one will be the applet that factors polynomials.

Why won't the ECM applet work? All I get is "Error: Click for details", and when I click it, I get "ClassNotFoundException: ecm".

I'm also getting this now. It broke sometime in the last few days. The "send a message" page is also broken - I can enter a message and click "send", but it reports "unable to send message"

It is related to the change from http to https in my Web site.

Notice the following line (you can see it through "View page source" contextual menu):
<param name="archive" value="http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ecm.jar" />

You cannot use a link to http in an https page.

I changed the HTML. Please check again.

What is the advantage in https in a site like yours? There are no passwords or sensitive data being submitted.

I'm now using Cloudflare, which is a CDN. This caches the Web site in different servers around the world so the pages are retrieved faster. They also give free SSL. So I accepted, because the ranking in Google is slightly better when the Web server uses encryption.

https://https.cio.gov/everything/

^ That appears to be by the US government, specifically a part of it which I've never heard of, but it seems to be a part that directly contradicts the NSA and its most repulsive goals (not to mention some of our nuttier Congresspeople). It's a quite good summary, and includes several links on the matter.

In my particular case, it does not matter who runs the service, because the previous version (in http) was already in the clear. So I have nothing to hide.

Perhaps it takes some time for caches to get the changes. View source for me still shows http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ecm.jar
