Finishing the M991 sieving means that for the first time in a very long time, there
are no Cunningham composites from among the first 5 holes in any table
being sieved.

I can not recall the last time this happened.
Well, each of them is above SNFS difficulty 291 (and that stays true even if we consider the 6-7th holes).
That's tough to run the LA on, for any amateur enthusiast, so we are only reduced to big projects participating.

Only the 7th hole 12,305+ might be easier than the rest of the bunch but it is a quartic (or an octic ).

I am tempted to try the 6th hole 2,1100+ as an octic.

Last fiddled with by Batalov on 2015-04-29 at 18:47 Reason: (12,305+ is 7th now)

Well heck, for that number you can drop the SNFS difficulty down to an easy 241. But you gotta use an icosic algebraic poly. I'm sure the sieving tools can handle that though, don't you think?

Wouldn't that be nice! ;-) No just a boring polcyclo(20) is what I am testing.

Seriously though, I am still waiting for someone to have an aha moment and find some a degree-6 / degree-2 pair of polynomials for the 2,2562L (2562 is divisible by 21).

Just counting Lehigh curves.
[on] a run through c200-c220 plus smaller first five holes,
with twelve more at .8t65 and thirteen more at/above t65. Looks
like another twenty-five at 3t60 =c 15t55, ... -Bruce
To review, if I may; that was 900 t55's distributed over
50 numbers from c200-c219 plus first fives under c280;

-vs-

120 t55's to raise the 3c60's to t67.5's on two numbers.

Seems like there is room for a few 3t65's = c. .6t70 for
the next time someone is looking to raise the Cunningham
gnfs record.

The remaining under-tested first five holes are
Quote:
7,353+ c241 second, 12t55 [running]
11,293- c300 4t55 [under]
7,361- c290 2t55 [running]
6,394+ c273 2t55 [under]
6,421- c281 2t55 [under]
5,431+ c292 6t55 [under]
12,293+ c303 new [under]
10,353- c328 5t55 [under]
11,311- c323 2t55 [under]
11,313- c273 2t55 [under]
6,397+ c297 new [under]
7,367+ c301 new [under]
5,481- c302 2t55 [under]
12,298+ c305 new [under]
6,431- c321 2t55 [under]
where "new" means at most generic runs by size, in runs before 2011. The 2t55's were
2011/2012; with 5t55's starting in 2013.

I did 8t55's on c200-c219's that Sam promoted to the regular list after he completed
t60 during the time that they were in the extensions. The other c200-c219's are among
the above 50 numbers. I'll switch the large condor pool (2000+ cores) to c220-c239's
once the above first five's under C290 finish, and leave the larger memory pcs (700+ cores)
to work on the C290-C328 stragglers. -bdodson.

Agreed. But the "big projects" don't seem interested. Instead, they are working
on composites from the most recent table extensions........

And we still have not heard from Verser, Bai, or Texas State.... Have they abandoned their
reservations?

Why don't you try asking them? Verser is a forum user with name rcv. Bai's email address can be found through ANU. And contacts at Texas State have been mentioned elsewhere in the forum.

I tried writing to Texas State and received no reply.

Indeed, Bob has previously been in contact with Don Hazlewood. See this. 'Course that was almost four years ago....

The job is running with 26GB resident memory use and, all going well, should finish around Midsummer's Day.
A bit earlier than Midsummer's Day, and with a very nice split.
Congratulations, Tom, great job!!

Continued here.

Maybe it is time to update this page.

I couldn't edit it myself. There is a login barrier. And no "sign-up" page to be found.
