Default doublecheck - results

Hi,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to see if a doublecheck had the same result
as the firsttime test (same residue, etc.)

I am assuming that you are talking about the exponents 12693277 and 12695233 that you returned on the 27th March.

There hasn't been another set of data files since you returned those results so we don't know just yet.

You need to go to www.mersenne.org/gimps when the new set of data files comes out (probably in another week or so) and download lucas_v.zip. If your exponents are in there it means that the residue matched.

If it is not in there, download hrf3.zip and see if your exponents are in there. If they are, it means that your residue did not match the one that is currently there so a triplecheck will need to be done in the case of 12693277 (as you were the second person to do a LL on that exponent). However in the case of 12695233, you were the 4th person to do a LL test on that exponent. So if it appears in hrf3 again, it will require a quintuple check.

....extract from hrf3

12695233,ganser,C735CFBC4,WX5,00000000
12695233,bwfield,etomato,WZ5,00000000

I am now very interested to see if your residue matches on of these 3. At the very least 2 of those results are wrong. Strange considering 2 of them have a perfect error code message.

I know.. probably far more information than what you wanted... I tend to ramble a bit...

Hi dave,

thx for your answer.
No, that wasn't to much input :)

So I'll wait and see what happens to these exponents...
At least my system isn't overclocked and uses ECC-protected memory (no machine check exceptions happend so far :))
AFAIK is bad memory one of the biggest problems...
