Default Win ME State Manager

I had been wondering why one of my borged boxen was crunching so slowly, so I checked out what was stealing all the cycles. It turned out to be the Microsoft State Manager which allows the user to go back to a previous good version of their system.

Is there a good way to disable this rather than just deleting it from the Registry. It does run as a service.

I'm afraid deleting state manager wouldn't be a polite choice

It permits Windows S.O. to rollback from a blocking status and start again from previous configuration. The borged user wouldn't like it...

As long as he/she is aware of it.
