The Earth's magnetic poles are in motion.
And in recent years, there has been an acceleration in the movement of the North Magnetic Pole. In general, the South Magnetic Pole does not stand still either. There are several mathematical models that predict the position of the Earth's magnetic poles in the coming years. Likewise, there is a lot of data from which we can judge geomagnetism in the past. Here is an interesting resource on the subject of the geomagnetism of our Earth: https://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/geomag.shtml I read somewhere that a prerequisite for participating in long expeditions to Antarktida is the extracted wisdom teeth and appendix. Take it with all your heart.
It may happen that in our lifetime the North Magnetic Pole will move somewhere in Siberia. |

The North Pole is moving to Russia. No big deal. Canadians will likely apologize for blocking access because of all the ice. And because we leased submarines that were not "fit for purpose". Sorry about that. |

The compass will work in much the same way as before, since the geomagnetic pole is not moving much.
But the aurora borealis will go after the Magnetic Pole to Siberia. I think this may also affect the quality of sleep of Canadians. They will soon have to put a strong neodymium magnet under their pillows so they don't have nightmares. |

The transcript of the NOVA episode Magnetic Storm (November 18, 2003) may be of interest.

I doubt that it will go through Moscow though. I plan to be around when the pole passes 33 N.

As the earth's magnetic field weakens, the solar wind will blow off the earth's atmosphere. And the Earth will suffer the fate of Mars.
It can also be dangerous when the poles are reversed. We will be attacked by cosmic radiation. By the way, I recently learned about the Brazilian Magnetic Anomaly - an area of the Earth where the strength of the magnetic field is dramatically low. This anomaly is getting worse. I read that the Hubble telescope, flying over this zone, goes into standby mode, as its sensors begin to make a lot of noise and the pictures are so-so. |

I know. I've been watching you for a long time. You sleep little and you work a lot. This can lead to irreversible consequences.
