Thirded. It's installed on every Windoze machine I have to administer.

The toolbar__log.txt file for the only login I've used since my previous post has been unchanged since the time that I made it read-only.

Conclusion: the make-read-only workaround tames the runaway file(s), with no apparent side effects so far.

There's no need for any third party tools really.

This is what I do to ease the situation:
(executed through a batch file along with other kind of optimizations)

REG ADD "HKCU\Environment" /v TEMP /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %SystemDrive%\TEMP /f
REG ADD "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment" /v TEMP /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %SystemDrive%\TEMP /f

Whenever you want to delete the most obvious crap that takes up disk space, blast entire contents of the folder away.

My disk is nowhere near full (13 G free). But there seems to be a memory leak(?). Commit pages grows from 700 to 3700 over a couple weeks and. Then Prime95 quits with an "out of memory" error.

P4 XP room heater ... But still part os the 101 percent
